Hindsight is a bit underrated on the good guy side of the political ooze. GOP gets the double standard because they act so regal about the tag. Now I completely remember the talk in about how we had the "permanant majority" and in 04' how Bush had a "mandate".
Mr. Obama feels much the same about his new found fame. Just as with Bush, Obama is in high gear trying to slide his agenda into the void of our economic self imposed calamity. Most Americans realize Democrats sabotaged our economy to hype the election turnout in their favor. Yes even Democrats will admit the obvious and some local and state leaders have actually pushed back efforts to stunt economic growth. The facts never really change it's the priority and merit of those facts and the prism through which they are presented to you that make the difference.
The message of his election was of a supernatural eppervesence, his followers entranced by the candence of his speak. Mr. Obama does not have 52% of the country there yet and he knows this. Only about 20% of America is under his spell at the moment. About 35-65% are dismisive of the true power of their vote, they run with the pack, just a bigger chunk went left than did right in Novemeber.
If Republicans rally public opinion away from t he proposed change of a single payer society they can possibly deflect some of the worst parts of this. However as we all know the Democrats not the Republicans have control of congress. We need to define this idea of stimulous as what it really is, a bad habit that has horroriffic side effects.
We are currently experiancing side effects of the 80's stimulous which was when we reset the count on slave labor imports. While under cutting the middle class blue collar worker, our government has created an illegal alien super market of tax exempt labor. Which increased housing demand, and strains government services budgets as more came. We are about to renew our lease on Mexican Slavery instead of helping the Mexican people to prosper as our neighbors.
The only hope Mr. Obama has to create an economic up tick is to follow through with his plans to slash the defense budget. Democrates in the late 80's early 90's cut this spending which did lead to a sustained up market through the late 90's. The cost for the excesses in the cuts was evident on 9-11, the idea that Obama will revert to this thinking is real but not likely.
My prediction is that by the mid-term elections we will have two camps of thought. Those who think Obama is all talk, and those who want to blame Bush. If that is how we go in it is because the GOP caved and rallied behind the stimulous plan. But if we want to win we cannot foster this plan with Democrats. We must recognize this is their doing not the fault of Bush but their regulations, their taxes, their social workings that have completely undone our economic fabric. Bush merely tried in vein to hold the line at the edge of the falls, his plan was a reaction to the political riptide of fraud journalism and blatent mass felony false reporting of the liberal media.
I also think that unless he really flops on a major issue Mr. Obama will continue a coat tail effect on the congress through 2010. But I do think he will flop bad on many issues, our task is to filter for ones that score him against public opinion and saturate the facts into our message and exploit our position relative to his. The point at which many on the left will not show up out of failed disgust in 2010 has got to be the goal second only to exposing the same group to a conservative eppifany is key. I think we also have to not over bombast their ignorance on Obama, this would encourage many to dig in and become stubborn. The better thing to do is to allow Obama his stimulous bill with minimal GOP support. We need to find the point at which we can allow our more liberal members a cover vote they can later claim was a product information, while insisting the party is united against it.
When it fails to produce any change, the hope will fade, the rose will fall and Obama will become an insignificant point in American history other than what he is really all about, RACE.
