Let's Talk Torture

There is really only one serious question to ask anyone who is in "torture denial".  It's not the "ticking timebomb" but rather a deeper more moral question of self defense.  The simple fact is the only reasons many states have "make my day" laws is to provide that a citizen be able to protect him/herself in a life threatening situation.

So here are a list of the real questions that might lead you to an intelligent decision on what is torture and is it accpetable in any  circumstance.   To what degree would you fight off an attacker in self defense?  Would you be willing to seriously injure or even kill an attacker to save your own life?  Would you forcibly intervene if you witnessed an attack on behalf of a third party?  Do you think anyone has the rights to use deadly force to protect another persons life?

It's really that simple there are people who live outside the United States of America some of them hate Americans.  When a known terrorist is interogated about specific knowledge of a terrorist attack or target that individual is directly participating in a planned of attack on an American citizen.  Our federal government's primary role is the safety and security of all 300+million Americans whixh includes obtaining all factual information of any specific threat to prevent the loss of life.

This is the modern age of war and if our tactics for dealing with such threats are not enhanced we will become vunerable.  In a traditional armed conflict war is knowingly fought by both sides of the engagement.  We must be allowed to defend ourselves and have a law enforcement mechanism to handle extraction of the truth from terrorists.
