You know it amazes me that the Democrats are floating the idea that we need another "stimulus". These are their policies and if the GOP lets them direct all the funding what do you think would happen come time for election? Mark Sanford Governor in SC doesn't want so called "stimulus" money because as he correctly points out by doing so he would have to increase the unemployment service his state can't presently afford and the federal money only pays for the current year. He is being attacked in the media for trying to save his state the future expenses of insuring the employment of part time workers.
Senator Charles Shumer of NY said recently when asked about the pork in these spending bill, "the American people don't care about these porky projects, I mean what is 250 million dollars anyways". I don't agree with why they took the money for their districts nor do I justify it. But this tale wagging the dog way of criticizing ONE party when the one the same critics put the other party into power which is the whole reason for the action in the first place is absurd. Do you know that since the Democrats have taken over Congress in 2006 and they now hold a larger majority than the GOP ever did under either Clinton or Bush that we have increased debt spending double what it was the first six years Bush was in office?
The last spending bill this congress put out wasn't even read by a single member as it past $1.3 trillion of debt without [ANY] GOP input. Now you are going to presume to stand in judgment of a party for what a handful of it's members have done with respect to $76 million? I think this whole notion has a Biblical reference in Revalation chapter 17 titled "The Famous Prostitute" John describes how, " .. the people of the whole world became drunk from drinking the wine of her immorality" I think there is hidden meaning in this text about the excesses of indulgence. The wine discribed here is a reference to state of mind resulting from excess.
These excesses are rooted in a belief of government spending. The sChip program that insures many more children now is not tax payer funded because that is not where the government draws the funds it taxes them from tabacco users. Where this runs us into a crisis is in this case when tabacco users quit or cutback usage, [great] but many of these well intentioned programs will no longer have funding. Same holds true with road projects that are funded on gas taxes when gas hit $4/gal. People cut back on there driving which cut their states ability to fund multi year projects paid for by forcast this tax revenue. I think the states in debt trouble probably are because they "speculated" revenue growth into their budgets.
What amazes me most is that all the facts don't matter to some people. Sure what some Republicans do I find outrageous. But what I find even more so is how much some people have promised, how they have no way pf proving they can deliver and how short some our willing to us all to get that next glass of emotional koolaide.
From 08- 2018 according to Obama's budget outlines America will spend more money than it had in it's previous 232 year of existence COMBINED!!!
